To help you easily remove and reattach the Airflow mesh cover of your FOD*BOSS, we are providing you with this guide to make it as simple as possible.

We know there are times when you may want to take off the mesh cover of your FOD*BOSS.  These are most likely to include cleaning and ensuring every little piece of FOD is emptied before transportation.  However, we do not normally recommend removing the mesh cover unless it is absolutely necessary.  If you do need to remove it, follow these instructions to quickly and easily reattach it.

Inspecting Before Use

  1. Before taking off the mesh cover, we recommend you carefully inspect for rips and tears that may have occurred at some point.  If you do have any rips and tears, contact Aerosweep for a repair kits and instructions.  Otherwise, follow the following steps:

    1. Strip off the mesh cover beginning at the front of the sweeper.  Carefully sperate the Velcro strips holding the cover to the sweeper, ensuring the “hooks” of the Velcro are not damaged.

    2. .Once the mesh cover is fully removed, you can perform the clean or FOD removal you intended.  Again always ensuring no undue force or pressure is applied to the Velcro strips, which may cause damage and prevent them from securing the cover in place again.

If you see any debris within the Velcro strip, we recommend using a soft toothbrush to remove it.  Other recommendations can be found here

Be careful not to be rough or rush the process, as this can cause damage which may affect the ability of the mesh cover to remain securely attached.  If any damage has occurred and you are not confident of the cover’s security, it may need to be repaired.  If this has occurred, please contact Aerosweep and we can advise on how to organise a repair.

Reattaching The Mesh Cover

  1. Once the mesh cover is cleaned or ready to be put back on the sweeper locate the front of the cover which will be identified by the word “Front” written on the mesh.  If you can’t find this, simply use the logo to orient the mesh so that the logo is facing you when viewing the FOD*BOSS from the rear.  See the image below.

  2. Once the mesh is positioned correctly, moving right to left or left to right (whatever is most comfortable for you), fit the front Velcro strip first and work back to the rear of the sweeper until all strips are securely fastened.

  3. Make sure the mesh cover is straight and covers the sweeper from front to back and from side to side.

  4. If you notice the mesh cover seems to have “shrunk”, the mesh cover may have been removed from the sweeper when it was wet, and then allowed to dry before being fitted again.  If this is the case, we recommend soaking the mesh cover in a bucket of water and when you feel it is fully saturated, begin reattaching the mesh cover again as advised in steps 1 to 3.  The mesh cover should now fully cover the sweeper as you see in the image below.

  5. The FOD*BOSS can now be rolled up and stored unless you needed to wet the mesh cover.  In that case, we recommend waiting until it is completely dry before rolling it up.
